Can someone help me i saved a word document and i'm trying 2 open it now and it saved with the .docx extensionopera mini
The .docx extension means it was saved in a Word 2007 format. If you do not have Word 2007 but do have an earlier version of Microsoft Word or Office, you can try to download the Compatibility Pack from Microsoft. It allows older versions of Word, excel and powerpoint to open and edit the new formats. Link and info below.

just go into "my computer" and find the file.
instead of opening it. rename it with the correct extension, i.e. "whaterver.doc"
that should work.
I know the new version of Word uses .docx as the extension. Are you trying to use a previous version of Word to open it? The new version can save as the old .doc version.
You wrote the document in the word 2007 format. You just need a file converter from Microsoft that is an extension for Office 2003. Get it from MS and install in on the computer you are on.
Try removing the x from .docx by right-clicking and renaming and see if Word will open it.
grab the compatibility Pack and you'll be able to open it

If you have Word 2007 on another computer, open the document there and then save it to another copy. Use the 'save as' option and choose '97-2003' to save it in a format that is usable to you on other machines.
