immediately i heard a whip sound through the speaker and tv didn't even on / flashed and it went off. what could be the causes? pls help.

Is the "extension box" a power outlet strip? Is may be possible the circuit breaker on the outlet strip may have tripped. Locate it and push it back in to reset the breaker.
