extension is matter of filling out a 1/2 page paper, can download it from the web. or can just call up your local IRS office and they can assist you as well. You have normally till Aug. 3rd to make the payments w/o penalty.

Way easy.....goto www.irs.gov and find forms file for an extension I think you have to print it out and send it in........taxes are not due till the 17th of april this year. But ya good luck!!!!!
See http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4868.pdf... for info on requesting an extension. You can make your request online - this link tells you how online or paper by mail.
u will fine and hiring tax consultant then
If you have paid at least 90% of your tax liability by April 15 (this year it's the 17th), then you would only pay interest on the balance. If y ou have paid less, then the failure to pay penalty is 0.5% per month as long as you have filed an extension. If y ou don't file an extension, then the failure to file penalty hits you for 4.5% per month.

You can use Form 4868 to get an automatic six-month extension for your federal return (it at the IRS web site: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4868.pdf... ) When you prepare the form you need to estimate your total taxes and payments (withholding and quarterly estimated taxes). If you show that you owe money, you should send it with the form.

You didn't mention your state, but some states require that you file a form with them even if you won't owe money. Most, however, will accept a copy of the federal Form 4868 with the tax return.
